From humble beginnings at the Belly Up Tavern in his hometown of San Diego to Toronto’s illustrious Massey Hall, Cervantes has directed, arranged, and tailored a catalog of timeless music with the blessing of The Band’s official estate and an honorary seal of approval from the late Robbie Robertson in 2022—a continuous highlight from one of his greatest influences.

The Last Waltz Dude Cervantes

While working side by side with up-and-coming artists in the U.S. and Canada, every performance has offered the opportunity to share the stage with incredibly talented peers—from Pearl Charles to Mara Connor, John Muirhead to Skye Wallace—in addition to legendary musicians “Blue” Lou Marini & Tom “Bones” Malone of The Blues Brothers; Canadian Hall of Fame songwriter Sylvia Tyson; English virtuoso guitarist Albert Lee; Colin Linden; Marc Ford of The Black Crowes; Jerry Raney of The Beat Farmers; Don Stevenson of Moby Grape; and the masterful steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar. The list continues to grow as he raises the bar further and further with his ability to create and reimagine for a new generation.
